It is clear from the number of people already attempting to join the network, view our forums and generally interacting with our content before we're even open or advertising that we exist that people are already interested in our project. We have said right from the conception of AuroraMC that we want to be as transparent as possible, so with that in mind, here is a little update on where things currently stand with AuroraMC.

Our Progress
In short, we still have quite a long way to go, but we are getting there. We want AuroraMC to be the best it can possibly be, and with such a small team working on it, it's going to take time. We are painstakingly planning, developing and testing every single little detail of the network to make it the best it can be. However, this also makes the network incredibly complicated and development takes longer as a result.

We are also limited by the resources we currently have access to. Block, who is our CTO, is currently at University and has a part-time job, so is finding it difficult sometimes to spend time developing the systems we need. While progress is happening, it is currently slow and dependant on workloads from his University work and his job.

How Long?
We don't know. We'd love to give you a date as much as you'd like to receive one. All of us are incredibly excited to share what we've been working on with you, but we simply aren't ready for that yet. Whilst it's still going to be a while before the network is ready for the public, we will be announcing some ways you can get involved a little sooner in the near future, so watch out for that.

Rest assured, we will let you know as soon as we have an estimate, but until we start alpha testing the network as a whole, we are not completely confident in any time estimates we may make. We have made several internal ETA's for getting stuff done, none of which we have actually hit so we think it's best just to wait until we know when we can open.

What are we doing?
As of current, most of our internal tools are finished and most of our core systems are either finished, pending a rewrite to work with newer systems or waiting for some bug fixes. We are testing these extensively to iron out any game-breaking bugs.

While work is being carried out on our internal systems, we are all working on getting cosmetics, coming up with some creative ways we can let everyone express themselves through the variety of cosmetic types we've come up with!

We are nearly ready to begin working on our Game Core. This will be what manages all of the games on our network. We will also be starting work on our first game as the Game Core is being developed, as this will allow us to know what needs to be put into our game core while also being able to test it straight away.

Outside of development, we are hard at work creating the processes necessary ready for when we start recruiting moderation staff, developers and other staff members including creating application forms, onboarding documents and internal tools to assist us in doing our job. We are also writing countless documentation pages about several areas of the network, so if anyone were to have any questions, all they'd need to do is give the forums a quick search to find exactly what they're looking for.

As we said, we can't wait to show you what we've been working on. We will announce more when we can. Please be patient!
